Because this commercial-grade athletic turf features an integrated 5mm polyurethane foam backing cushion and requires zero loose infill, the preparation, chemical bonding, and layout workflows differ significantly from standard landscape grass. The indoor concrete slab must be fully cured (minimum 28 days), clear of curing compounds, and tested for moisture vapor emissions. Any dips or low spots must be filled with a self-leveling cement compound to prevent air pockets under the foam cushion. Use a full-spread, high-bond, low-VOC polyurethane turf adhesive applied with a 1/16" x 1/16" x 1/16" square-notched trowel. Water-based adhesives must be avoided as humidity or sweat migration can weaken the bond over time. Immediately after laying the turf into the wet adhesive bed, the entire surface must be rolled with a 75 lb to 100 lb segmented linoleum roller. Roll in multiple directions (north-south and east-west) to guarantee 100% adhesive transfer to the foam backing and eliminate trapped air bubbles.
