Installation & Care Notes
Synthetic Turf International (STI) NP45 installation applications depend on whether the project is indoor (golf simulator or commercial gym) or outdoor (backyard putting green). Because NP45 is a high-density, texturized 100% nylon turf, it reacts differently to temperature changes than standard polyethylene turf. It expands and contracts slightly with moisture rather than heat, requiring precise stretching, anchoring, and adhesive techniques to ensure a perfectly flat, wrinkle-free surface. The underlying concrete must be completely cured (minimum 28 days), level, and free of cracks, dust, or oils. Any low spots are patched with a self-leveling compound. A high-tack, low-VOC exterior polyurethane or acrylic turf adhesive is spread over the concrete using a 1/8" x 1/8" x 1/8" square-notched trowel. Once the turf is relaxed and laid into the wet glue, a 100-pound water-filled or steel roller is run across the entire surface. This eliminates air bubbles and guarantees a flush bond, preventing the turf from bubbling when heavy weight sleds or dragging feet pass over it.
