WonderFill Artificial Turf Infill is manufactured from a foundation of high-quality, hard, well-graded round silica sand grains encapsulated in a protective vinyl-acrylic coating. Sourced as premium, durable quartz/silica sand grains. The naturally rounded geometry of the sand is a critical material property; unlike jagged, raw sand that acts like tiny knives against synthetic grass, these smooth spheres prevent the fibers from fraying or wearing down the turf backing over time. The sand core is completely encapsulated in a custom vinyl/acrylic color coating applied at a thermal facility. it creates a less abrasive texture against skin during impact and permanently encapsulates the raw mineral dust, preventing fine airborne particulates from being kicked up into the air. Infused directly into the vinyl-acrylic coating layer is a specialized biocide formulated as Zinc Pyrithione (trademarked as Zoe Antimicrobial). This active material targets the cell membranes of bacteria, mold, mildew, and algae. By preventing microbial lifecycle growth, it directly blocks the biological breakdown of uric acid into volatile gas, neutralizing pet urine odors right at the surface level.

WonderFill Turf Infill is a premium, professional-grade coated sand infill engineered for synthetic turf longevity, drainage, and hygiene. It consists of rounded, non-porous silica sand grains encapsulated in a vibrant green acrylic/vinyl coating. This coating is infused with Zinc Omadine™ ZOE™ Antimicrobial protection to suppress the growth of mold, mildew, algae, and odor-causing bacteria from pet waste. Ensure the artificial turf carpet and backing are 100% dry before starting application. Spreading infill on damp grass will cause the fine grains to stick to the top of the blades, creating localized clumps. Run a mechanical power broom or a stiff-bristled turf rake aggressively across the yard moving against the grain. This step opens the compact thatch layer and pulls the turf blades completely upright. Fill a standard commercial drop spreader with the dry WonderFill. Note: Avoid centrifugal rotary spreaders, which fling the coated granules unevenly and cause spotty coverage across the field.

Crucially, the coating is permanently infused with Zinc Omadine (ZOE) Antimicrobial technology to destroy bacteria, mold, mildew, and algae. Because it is non-toxic, odorless, and California Proposition 65 exempt, installers specify Wonderfill for several high-spec residential and commercial turf projects. This is Wonderfill's most prominent application. When pet urine passes into standard sand, bacteria breed and release harsh ammonia odors. Wonderfill’s ZOE antimicrobial coating kills the specific organisms that cause urine degradation, keeping pet yards fresh and clean. For pet turf, installers utilize the large-grain 12/20 mesh size.
