VersaCourt Residential Artificial Grass
VersaCourt Residential is a premium line of interlocking, modular sport tiles engineered to create low-maintenance backyard game courts. Designed for basketball, pickleball, tennis, and multi-sport layouts, these tiles feature a specialized suspension system that reduces joint impact and provides a true ball bounce. Achieves a Class 3 rating with 39.7% shock absorption. This flexible suspension reduces stress on the lower back, knees, and ankles during sudden lateral movements. Rated at 99.8% ball rebound efficiency, providing a consistent bounce comparable to standard concrete or asphalt. The engineered interlocking mechanism permits minor horizontal shifting. This design absorbs the friction of hard stops, shielding players from skin abrasions and joint fatigue. An open surface structure utilizes built-in 1/4 draining channels. Water sheds instantly to avoid localized pooling, allowing the court to dry quickly after heavy rain. The hollow structure absorbs impact noise, limiting the loud echoes typical of a basketball bouncing directly on unpadded concrete.UV & Chemical Protection: Infused with UV stabilizers and anti-oxidants to prevent color shifting, sun-bleaching, or material decay over long-term exposure.

Built For Natural Landscape Performance
VersaCourt Residential is an interlocking, high-impact modular sport tile system designed primarily for constructing custom backyard multi-sport game courts, family basketball half-courts, standalone pickleball courts, and driveways. Manufactured from a specially blended Copolymer Polypropylene by VersaCourt, these open-grid tiles snap together like puzzle pieces to transform traditional concrete slabs into vibrant, low-maintenance, and joint-friendly athletic zones. Homeowners heavily use these tiles to maximize limited space by stacking multiple sport lines. A single surface can easily be configured to host basketball, pickleball, tennis, volleyball, badminton, and shuffleboard using multi-height adjustable net systems. VersaCourt scales to accommodate everything from a compact 3-point shooting pad to a complete full-court setup, pairing seamlessly with heavy-duty standalone hoops. Features a specialized "Pickleball Performance" line that optimizes rapid ball rebound and consistent true-bounce response. The specialized Active tile tier features heavy-duty "drive-on" durability, allowing vehicles to park over the court without cracking or fracturing the tiles.

Installation & Care Notes
Installing a VersaCourt Residential court requires a rigid, flat foundation engineered to support its interlocking, high-impact polypropylene tiles. Unlike roll-out artificial turf, modular tile courts expand and contract with temperature shifts. Because of this, the system relies on an exact subbase leveling strategy combined with dedicated perimeter expansion gaps to prevent the tiles from buckling. According to the official VersaCourt Installation Guidelines, the foundation must be perfectly smooth, as any minor subbase bumps will telegraph directly through the ¾-inch tile profile and cause uneven ball bounces. Pour a 4-inch thick 3,000 PSI concrete slab reinforced with rebar or wire mesh. The concrete must have a light broom finish and a 1% slope for water drainage. Allow new concrete to cure for at least 28 days before installing tiles. Lay a minimum of 2 inches of asphalt over a 4-to-6-inch compacted aggregate base. Asphalt provides excellent ball response but can soften in extreme summer heat. For a temporary or budget-friendly setup, excavate 4 inches of soil and pack down fine crushed stone or decomposed granite to a 95% compaction density. Note that aggregate bases can settle over time, which may slightly reduce basketball bounce quality.
- Professional base preparation recommended
- Use appropriate infill for the application
- Brush fibers periodically to maintain appearance
- Rinse as needed for dust, pets, or debris
- Confirm drainage needs before installation
Warranty & Availability
VersaCourt residential interlocking court tiles are backed by a Lifetime Limited Warranty for outdoor tiles and a 15-Year Limited Warranty for indoor wood-grain tiles. This protection guarantees the structural performance and color stability of the polypropylene court system under normal backyard sports use. Full coverage if the interlocking mechanisms or tile bodies crack, break, or delaminate under standard athletic traffic. Guarantees that the tiles will not experience severe, uneven color fading or structural sun-rotting due to built-in UV stabilizers. Covers warping or locking failures caused by seasonal temperature fluctuations, as the tiles are designed with thermal expansion joints. If a warranty claim is validated, VersaCourt provides the replacement tile materials only. The homeowner is entirely responsible for all freight shipping fees and the labor costs required to snap out the old tiles and lock in the new ones. Cracking, sinking, shifting, or structural buckling caused by the underlying concrete slab, asphalt base, or compacted stone framework is completely excluded.

Is VersaCourt Residential Right For Your Project?
VersaCourt Residential interlocking tile systems are primarily used to construct custom, low-maintenance backyard sports courts and multi-game athletic complexes. This is the most popular residential application. Installers use the tiles to overlay concrete or asphalt pads, mapping out shared boundaries for basketball, pickleball, tennis, volleyball, and badminton on a single surface. Property owners in tight neighborhoods select VersaCourt because the open-structure tiles reduce the echo and sound pollution of bouncing balls compared to bare concrete. With the massive rise of standalone pickleball, homeowners use VersaCourt to build dedicated 20' x 44' playing areas. The surface provides a consistent, monolithic ball bounce and uses a spring-clipping system that allows slight side-to-side flex to reduce strain on players' knees and joints. Utilizing specialized tile variants (like VersaCourt Speed Outdoor), families build backyard hockey rinks. The tiles are engineered to provide maximum wheel grip for inline skates and puck glide while resisting cracking under high-impact stick play.
